I'm in love. Simple. Just as love should be.
I cannot begin to explain how exciting it was to open the little envelope with the prints from my first film. I paused my fingers on the flap just before opening it, knowing there is no going back on knowledge. I wanted the moment to last a little bit longer. Just a little bit longer. I held my breath as I opened the envelope. And there it was.
My first set of prints from a film with an old camera. Vintage is the word now used, très chic! And it was beautiful and filled with mistakes and they didn't put the white border I had asked for, but oh my, was it love!
That's the thing with love, it doesn't have to be perfect, it does not expect or aims at perfection, it just is and there's a glow and a smile and the whole world spins a good spin. That's not to say we can't improve or work at it… yes, my love of film needs a *lot* of work but oh is it worth it! So very worth it!
There's an incredible feeling in waiting for these images to turn up having no clue what they will look like and knowing they will be a bit more of my view of the world than my digital images. These were straight out of the camera (or SOOC, if you're in the know, which I wasn't up until 5 minutes ago, so there's still hope for you). I now need to work out why some images show a dark cloud (artistic effect not intended) and hope it's not the camera, knowing damn well that if it is I'll continue to use it anyway! Oh yeah!
The full set on Little Miss Joey's Flickr… if you want more… if you can't help but to want more… like with ice cream 😀
