North and South

North-and-south

One of the things I love most about Britain is BBC. It is obviously a great British institution and all that, so I guess it’s kind of an obvious one for a foreign little miss Joey to have a wee crush on. And she does! Having recently watched South Riding (which I absolutely recommend, especially if you like period dramas), I am now making my way through North and South. I’ve only watched episode one, but oh my is it addictive. Too bad I’m tired and have a blog post to write, otherwise I may have watch all four episodes in one go! As you can tell, reviewing tv series in great detail is not my thing, but I can assure you it is good, very good, for a number of important reasons that make series good (one of them being moi liking it!). So watch it if you can and make the time if you cannot 🙂

People in this country whinge about the BBC all the time, sometimes it takes someone from abroad to remind us how good it is. Costume dramas arent my thing but the BBC seems to specialise in them. I hope these two programmes are better than Lark Rise to Candleford, which was a complete waste of licence-payers money – watching paint dry was more exciting.
